At the music bar in Timog with Alan and Josie

January 16, 2009

While we were having our own gimmick at Off the Grill (that is the term used by the teens for activities like this), our classmates in Legazpi were having a despedida party for Fe.

Max initiated a call to Armand and passed on the cell phone to Alan who was able to talk with Armand and a few others in Legazpi enjoying their own party.

Fe is returning to Canada early next week while Alan returns to  LA on Sunday, with Josie scheduled to leave two days later.

such is the power of the cellpphone that participants in two despedida parties separted by about 500 kilometers can exchange notes on the highlights of the parties.

There were 9 of us in Manila and there were 10 of our classmates in Legazpi.

A few photo ops and kuwentuhan while waiting for the food and drinks

Parang napa "Wow! Cholesterol!" si Eve pero lahat naman kami kumain ng makolesterol pero masarap na barbecue, including health-buff Juni ;-). The spirit was determined to observe the healthy diet memorandum but the flesh was weak, rationalizing it with "sobrang sisenta din naman tayo."

Look at this. Max and Roger initially ignore the pretty lady music bar attendants, but later took their attention away from Arthur who had them first. ;-)

Roger and Juni had to leave at 9:30pm because they leave in San Pedro, Laguna and Imus, Cavite respectivelly. Bing and I had to leave at 10:30 PM because of the last trip schedule of the jeepney going to Montalban town, and so did Arthur and Eve.

But Max treated Alan and Josie to more music, this time folk music and the like at the Brother's Moustache, also at the Timog area.

It was, as you may have already guessed correctly, a fun night for these 9 senior citizens who shared a huge dining area with young people for a night of music and stories-sharing, recession or no recession.

Thank you to everybody who came, especially to Alan and Josie!
